Crystal Tolbert
Mental Health Counselor
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right!” – Henry Ford
My Story
Hello, my name is Crystal Tolbert and I am a mental health counselor, working towards full licensure at DNM Health Services, currently working with individuals, families, and couples from adolescence to aging adults. As a single mother and overcomer of life’s challenges, I bring a nonjudgemental, compassionate stance in helping others overcome adversity while building resiliency for the future.
I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Advocacy (Liberty University) and Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, specializing in trauma and grief (GCU). It is my honor and privilege to walk alongside all populations of people and I am committed to fostering genuine, meaningful therapeutic relationships that inspire hope, positive growth mindsets, and healing. With over 10 years in the mental health field, I have worked with both individuals and groups helping at-risk adolescents, short-term adult crisis stabilization, long-term adult substance rehabilitation, individuals with court mandated anger management counseling, military veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, and grieving professionals.
My eclectic approach includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, SolutionFocused Therapy, Trauma Focused-CBT, and Family Systems Therapy. Using person-centered goals we collaborate towards positive growth in a holistic approach to focus on both internal (mind, emotions, and spirit) and external (familial and community) systems of change. Take the first step forward to your healing journey and embrace the challenge to grow through what you go through.
