I believe that every individual is of significant worth and should be valued in their therapeutic journey toward healing and emotional growth.
My Story
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor at DNM Health Services with over 22 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment. I began my educational journey at Georgia College and State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology. From there, I continued to Fort Valley State University to complete my master’s degree in mental health counseling.
Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, prisons, jails, and mental hospitals. Additionally, I have volunteered with several organizations, such as counseling centers, hospice, the Salvation Army, and local food banks. Through these experiences, I have developed a safe, non-judgmental approach that facilitates personal growth, insight, and healing.
My theoretical approach to treatment draws on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). By combining these methods, I help clients examine how their thoughts, feelings, and actions impact their sense of safety and fulfillment in their environment.
Furthermore, I am committed to empowering clients to take charge of their personal growth and transformation. In therapy, I bring an approachable, humorous, and open-minded style to learning and meeting each client’s unique needs. I do not judge, but rather, I am open to exploring each client’s needs as they express them. Above all, I believe that every individual is of significant worth and should be valued in the therapeutic journey toward healing and emotional growth.
