My Story

Hi, I am Joy Brothers. I am a passionate and dedicated counseling professional currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. I am deeply committed to walking alongside individuals, couples, and children as they navigate life’s challenges, offering compassionate, individualized care that honors each person’s unique story and experiences. At DNM Health Services, my goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to pursue healing and personal growth.

As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) intern at DNM Health Services, I work under the supervision of licensed therapists to provide high-quality counseling services. I approach counseling with empathy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand each client’s perspective. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, and I strive to help clients develop practical tools to manage challenges, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Person-Centered Therapy to provide personalized care tailored to each client’s needs. Through Person-Centered Therapy, I focus on building a warm, nonjudgmental environment characterized by empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. This foundation allows clients to feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. CBT complements this by helping clients identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns that may contribute to emotional distress or behavioral challenges. By combining these approaches, I work collaboratively with clients to foster greater self-awareness, resilience, and positive change.

I understand that seeking support can feel vulnerable, and I consider it a privilege to be part of each client’s journey. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, infidelity, trauma, or other life challenges, I am here to provide compassionate guidance and support. Together, we can work toward healing, personal growth, and the development of healthier patterns that support a more fulfilling life.
