Otissa King

Counselor

My Story

Hello, my name is Otissa King, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience working in the helping profession. I am passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward healing, stability, and personal growth.

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and I am currently working toward obtaining my Associate Professional Counselor (APC) license. I am honored to provide counseling services through DNM Health Services, where I support clients in a compassionate, supportive, and professional environment focused on mental health and overall well-being.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings including the prison system, child welfare services, schools, and community mental health. These experiences have allowed me to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, helping them overcome challenges and develop healthier coping strategies.

At DNM Health Services, I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to work through difficult experiences.

My counseling approach is compassionate, collaborative, and solution-focused. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with other evidence-based practices to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical tools for personal growth and emotional wellness.

I believe that seeking support is a courageous step, and I strive to walk alongside my clients as they work toward healing, resilience, and a more balanced life.
